Privacy Policy

Compare Flatpacks (“we”, “us”) helps Australians compare flatpack kitchens, laundries and wardrobes. We collect as little personal information as we can, and we never sell it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is run by Melanie Jade McCann (ABN 46 574 506 426).

What we collect

You can use our comparison tool without giving us any personal information. We only collect information when you choose to give it to us:

How we use it

Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails if you’ve ticked the box to say yes. The box is never ticked for you. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing us. Asking for your comparison on its own doesn’t sign you up for anything else.

We never sell or share your email address

We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don’t share it with the brands we compare or with affiliate partners. We only share it with service providers who help us run the site, such as our email service, MailerLite, and only so they can do that job for us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Affiliate links and cookies

Some links on our site, mainly to add-on products like custom doors and handles, are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may use cookies to record that you came from us. That is covered by their privacy policies, not ours.

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our site, such as which pages are visited and how people find us, so we can make it more useful. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your device, browser, approximate location and the pages you visit. It doesn’t tell us who you are. This information is processed by Google, which may store it outside Australia. You can read Google’s privacy policy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on. We don’t use advertising cookies.

Where your information is stored

Your email address and marketing choice are stored by our email service provider, which may keep data on servers outside Australia, for example in Europe or the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure the providers we use protect your information.

How long we keep it

If you’ve opted in to marketing emails, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If you only asked for your comparison, we keep your details for 3 months and then delete them.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Just email us and we’ll respond within 30 days.

If you have a question or a concern about your privacy, email us at hello@compareflatpacks.com.au. We’ll look into it and get back to you within 30 days. If you’re not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
